Tom Morello & The Nightwatchman - World Wide Rebel Songs
Posted on 00:59 by Unknown
Not being a fan of Rage Against The Machine I wasn't remotely interested in hearing anything Tom Morrello was a part of until I heard Audioslave and it was very strong stuff. So with that in mind I gave his solo album a listen which turned out to have some really engaging music. There is some total shit on the album I will be honest but their are some complete gems. This album shines bright on "Black Spartacus Heart Attack Machine", "Speak & Make Lightning", "Stray Bullets", "World Wide Rebel Songs" & "Union Town". These are the best songs on the album for sure and should be staples in your listening rotation. The rest don't do a thing for me but I will mention "It Begins Tonight" which about as close to R.A.T.M. or Audioslave. I did find much of the material akin to The Clash in spirit and vocal delivery for sure and considering how political or social the lyrics are one might believe Tom's tributing the effervescence of the mighty punk kings.
