A new band that Nickelback's facebook page posted about so I check them out. I'm sure glad I followed that advice because this band is pretty good. They are compatible to Panic! @ The Disco, JTX, Hedley & Good Charlotte with the pop side of Our Lady Peace as well. Never Look Back kicks off with a manic "Don't Stop" which didn't grab me to be honest. But I kept going and was rewarded with "Beautiful Mess" a decent pop song that comes together with a good chorus and catchy enough hook.
As the album progresses their are hits and misses like the miss "Do It Again" that massages mediocrity and flatness to death. A good marching pop ballad "Alone" steps the quality back up to acceptable but still is a little light and doesn't manage to be much more than acceptable filler. The pleasant new wave of "All The Love" made my ears perk up right away. The song again achieves a little higher nearly being more than a filler track.
Where this album hits it right again is "Magnetic" which has everything you could want in this run of new wave/new romantic styled bands. Obviously they know who New Order and Duran Duran are once you listen to this song. The album continues with a couple of good tracks and a filler track and ends. Overall this isn't perfect but it has enough good stuff that you'll want to add those good tracks to your I-Pod.
