Kid Rock - Born Free
Posted on 16:41 by Unknown
The Kid is back with what I can say is his best set to date. The album leans to the mellow side of his sound but the songs are well written and his delivery is soulful. He believes in what he's laying down and that is why it works no matter what genre he's rocking his strut to. I would say this album is a southern rock that bleeds outlaw country. I would have enjoyed a few kick ass rockers full of his hip-hop swagger but this time the album stays pretty far away from that whole shtick. This album will please anyone who misses the good old days when the blues dominated rock n' roll. If your expecting metal guitars and drum machines you will be wholly disappointed and should not go into this album waiting for that to happen. But if you like acoustic guitars, harp and a old school southern soul music this will give your ears an excuse to do a happy dance. Well done Kid you truly are the savior of rock n' roll and all things good in current popular music.
Song Highlights: The First Time (In A Long Time), Slow My Roll, Born Free, God Bless Saturday, Flyin' High & Rock Bottom Blues
